March 2nd: Spring, come soon so we can complain about something else! Enough cold and snow … not that we shouldn't expect it in our part of the world. It's winter. 🤦🏼♀️
I'm sitting here listening to a motivational speaker. A woman, Mel Robbins, has branded, "The 5 Second Rule".
Lately, I haven't had too much trouble with what I call inertia. I am not usually fatigued or depressed or unmotivated.
During sadder, more worrisome times, I have had trouble "getting moving". I saw a movie in which an actress, Kate Blanchette, told herself aloud, "MOVE, Get UP!"
I visualize the scene and I've used that many times if I had trouble moving or getting going, tackling a maneuver or project small or large.
What I'm thinking now is that I wish I had marketed the 5 second rule myself! I too could be a multimillionaire. 😀
Sometimes you just need to rest, to enjoy the inertia, hit the snooze button. Other times you need to get up and meet commitments, not let yourself and others down.
According to Mel Robbins, you countdown "5-4-3-2-1" as soon as you get a notion to do something. Suck up your courage within five seconds and move. Go!

Yesterday I enlisted Gary's help for an hour. He only questioned my purchase briefly.
I had spoken for two tall, narrow cupboard units, plain enough to be used with almost any decor. When Gary asked where they would go … I didn't really have an answer. I visualized that they might replace a bookcase unit which holds casserole dishes and bowls and groceries in our kitchen.
For the moment, they are stashed in the kennel building. I might wish I had more of them.
Great, huh? Store more stuff. Who cares anyway?
The unit meets Smokey's approval.
* footnote: The two units are really too big for our kitchen. Either single or side by side, they are too monolithic or awkward for the space. I don't even care … they can store stuff in my kennel office. They fit with my eclectic style of decor in one place or another. No regrets.
I hope your day is fine and dandy, also with no regrets.
Love, Ann
Minna at home.
Yetta strongly resembles a cat 'Davey' who was killed by boarding dogs a few years ago. 😢 💔 She's a "redemption cat": I will strive to keep her safe for a full, long life.
Sam and Smokey rarely rest this close together, but there is only one lap …
Mica would be on my lap if I just gave the word.
