Peter Gruner March 28 I read an article the other day about how to be a better speaker. The advice was to practice ten times more than you would normally. Wait. What? Ten times? If I think of a play, the math won't add up. We usually rehearse three times a week for three hours. So, that's 9 hours a week. Ten times that, is 90 hours a week! That's more than 12 hours a day every day using that advice! Crazy!! But if you think of it as a metaphor… Ten times = a lot more than you usually do Then the advice makes sense. I always underestimate how long something is going to take. And I start later than I should. I've got some line learning to do. And some lyric learning to do. Deadlines are approaching. I can't spend ten times the amount of time that I usually would learning those things. But I can spend MORE time than I usually do. I can approach the learning with a ten times attitude!
