I often go back and forth when thinking about Life, the Universe, and our interconnections.
Part of me is pragmatic. Embracing my logical side. Just the facts, ma'am.
And part of me is mystical. Embracing my irrational side. Basking in the "woo woo". The unexplainable.
We're beings of energy and all kinds of possibilities exist.
I can make cases for both perceptions of the world. And I go back and forth.
We don't see the world as it is. We see the world as we are.
It struck me, yesterday, that there are all kinds of opportunities around.
If you are looking for them. Or if you pay attention.
Seek and you shall find.
The problem is that we see an opportunity but look at it as if it was something else. An obligation? An idea that might not pay off? Too much effort?
Deb and I were out at a story telling event (The Hamilton 7) at Theatre Aquarius. And in various conversations, at least three writing opportunities were mentioned.
A contest. A workshop. A writing possibility.
And my initial reaction to each was to smile and dismiss them. Not for me.
Why not?
My logical side says it's too much work. And I'm busy.
My mystical or "woo woo" side says maybe the Universe is telling me something. Should I listen?
Maybe I'm being invited to write. And all I need to do is to act.
The night before, someone asked me point blank: When are you going to put on The Lost Years again?
Life goes on whether you think there's a divine plan or not. Taking action is more important than sitting around waiting for destiny to manifest.
But I think I might try listening to my "woo woo" side a bit more this year.
Sometimes all we need is the right encouragement. And sometimes it comes from unexpected places…
