Yay! My favourite day.
Yesterday, rather impulsively, I went into Prince George. I had a list of staple goods to shop for: items that are either quite expensive locally or hard to find.
But who am I kidding? I just wanted to take myself on a joy ride. It was a beautiful day and the car is lovely to drive. The sound system is amazing, and the features like cruise control and lane guides are great.
One of my missions was to pick up the kalette seeds that Art Knapp's (garden centre) had set aside for me. I hadn't asked but I expected the packet to be perhaps $5. Instead it was $14.99 for twenty seeds! I expect to not bother with this again, but here I am.
I don't have the stamina for shopping that I used to have. Really, within short "sprees", I get joy in finding bargains and I buy very little impulsively. Sometimes when I get to certain stores, I find new products and inventions that are quite marvellous.
Then there's the thrift stores where there's something for everyone, plus items that I never knew I always wanted.
Like most people, I have enough stuff. I don't do this very often, what I call "slaying the stores." 💪😉
When I got hungry, I just bought a Subway sandwich and ate it in the car. That seemed like a treat. 🤷🏼♀️ Usually and strangely, my treat is a Costco hotdog, but today the lineup was too long, both at the checkouts and the food court.
On the way home, though quite far out of the way, I stopped to see my friend Allison. We met decades ago at rabbit and guinea pig shows. In her case the small animal hobby has endured: she still travels occasionally to show her Dutch bunnies.
We still have much in common. It is difficult to catch up in a short visit, but we try. It made my day even better to have made the detour. I had bought her a rabbit carrier to keep or donate.

For Easter weekend I have tried to be flexible with my so-called retirement. There are a few personal friends and loyal customers who need my service. I have promised to be honest when asked if I can or will pet-sit. At this point, I feel "all booked up" with about four souls here.
Just playing it by ear, so to speak. Photos tomorrow.
Love, Ann
