I get Arnold Schwarzenegger's daily newsletter. It's full of tidbits of information about health and exercise. Five days a week.
One of today's nuggets was about dieting.
But instead of restricting your food, you add to it.
What?
Instead of focusing what to remove, the suggestion is to keep a scorecard and focus on what to add.
Fruits and Vegetables. You should make sure that you have two servings of them per day.
Legumes, Nuts, Fish, and Dairy. Try to have 2 to 3 servings of them during the week.
Obviously, if you are Vegan or allergic, leave out the problematic items.
And it doesn't mean that you can't have grains or red meat. You want to make sure that you're getting things that are beneficial for most people.
There's no one size fits all diet out there. You've got to find what works for you.
But maybe creating a score card and adding the good things your body needs. And tracking it.
Instead of focusing on restricting. And cutting things out.
Might help you get healthier. Which is likely to help with your weight in the long term.
If you'd like to get Arnie's daily newsletter yourself, here's a link where you can sign up for it.
