Every day above ground at least starts as a good day! Thursday is my favourite day, and many of you could be tired of reading that.
But "here's the deal … ", as my friend would say. Every single week there is a Thursday. Yay!
One of the things I started with yesterday morning was to post a photo of a cutlery or "flatware" box, asking in Facebook if anyone had one. I didn't ask for anything "free" or specify condition.
Within minutes, a friend to whom I have given dozens of pieces of cutlery responded: "I've got one for you, Ann."
I worked on that box and others during the day: sanding, removing liners, etc, painting. I have quite a collection now, but do you know? I regret that I have given away or sold several in my life.
I'm going to try to remember to look in the swap sheds and thrift stores. I'm making keepsake boxes and organizing photos and travel mementos. Perhaps I don't have patience to decoupage or steampunk them, but I like the simple, streamlined look of the originals with stain or paint.
And because I have the memory of a gnat, I also label each one.
Drat! I forgot to take a "before" photo. It was stained and moldy.
It took just minutes to sand and refresh with oil finish.
I sent my friend these photos, and she said, "I've changed my mind. I want it back!" 😀
I do feel pleased about my "collection" of cutlery boxes, but I got bogged down in the sorting of the keepsakes and cards themselves. I exhausted myself with the task of organizing, and the emotion of the walks-back-in-time.

It is rainy again today and cool.
Last night I dreamt that I was chronically ill and needed to adhere to a certain diet and medication regime. Then I awoke and realized how lucky I am to have my (reasonably good) health and the life I lead.
We would feel luckier if we could see our loved ones more often, but we're working on plans.
And I'm chronically overweight by any standards, but only I can manage that.
I hope your day is a good one.
Love, Ann
