People you may know. They keep popping up on my Facebook feed.
Some of them I do know. Some of them I'm aware of but don't know.
And some others…? They're friends with one person I know?? Why would you assume they are my friends, Facebook?
But it's the ones that you do know. Or know of.
Those people whose friends overlap with mine.
I don't see a need to FB friend them. Because I don't know them. Or at least know them personally.
However, one person keeps popping up on my feed.
I don't know them, but I know who they are.
And obviously, we have mutual friends.
Why do they keep popping up?
Looks like we have 30 mutual FB friends.
I was at a Fringe show on Friday and saw them in person.
The next day, I saw them at another Fringe show. And I thought, well that's weird.
It's normal to bump into someone you know at a Fringe show.
It's less likely to bump into the same person at more than one show. You not only have to decide to pick the same shows to see, but you must pick the same times to see them.
Less likely. Not too unusual, though.
But to bump into someone at three shows would be unusual.
I told myself that if I saw them at a third Fringe show, I would say hello.
Sure enough, they were at the late show I saw that night.
But I chickened out.
I noticed them just before the show was about to start. So, it would be awkward to start a conversation at that point. Especially, a "Hi, you don't know me but…" kind of conversation.
I vowed that I would say hello if I bumped into them a fourth time. But then I was Fringed Out yesterday, so I didn't end up seeing anything.
Or was I afraid that I would bump into them again?
Is it just coincidence or is the Universe saying we should be friends?
I don't know. But I suppose if I run into another time, I will have to say hello.
