Sixteen hundred+ kilometres (about 996 miles) and we have landed!
Lots of people have travelled further, and often, but not us. Whew … we were tired.
It's so vast you can hardly see the sailboats
and other craft on the lake, which is about 20 miles wide here.
After opening up the family cottage at Gimli, we went for pickerel dinner. It was the most scrumptious and fresh fish dinner I've ever had.
That'll be just the start of my hip expansion!
This evening daughter Beth and our granddaughter Juno arrive in Winnipeg … a mere hour from the cottage. We'll go pick them up, and then the party will really start in earnest.

Scenes we don't see every morning from coffee-on the deck!
I heard a sound, he told me, "No, there are no loons here."
But they do have bigass pelicans,
ie, members of the 'Icelandic Air Force'.
It's 10 am as I write, and it's already hot 🥵. I like the heat, but am very self conscious about … oh never mind. Imma going to cut off a pair of thrift shop jeans very soon.
Who cares anyway?
Hope your day is grand and hotter than blazes if you want it to be.
Love, Ann
