The Ugly is that one of the kittens, who had been perfectly clear of ringworm for weeks, came down with it, so I'm back to square one with some of the kittens. So tired of the ringworm stuff, but we'll soldier on and hopefully get everything gone sooner than later.
The Very Good is that the kitchen is nearly done. We are still missing a cupboard door, and the front part of one of the drawers, as you'll see in the photos. And there's some hardware still to come in, but none of that prevents us from using the kitchen at this point. It is wonderful to be able to prepare meals, human and critter, in the kitchen and put the used dishes in the dishwasher!!! I haven't had a dishwasher for the last 18 or 19 years, and I am soooo glad to have one again.
I had to order some things for organizing stuff in the new kitchen, and some of it is still to come, but the painter finished today so we can start putting more stuff away, except in the cupboard that's missing a door. Hopefully that comes Monday. Given all the things that could have gone wrong or gotten delayed, a cupboard door, drawer front, and a few pieces of hardware isn't bad. We didn't finish by July 2nd, as scheduled, but we could still use the kitchen by then. So we're happy.
Here's the new kitchen, almost done.
And paws crossed, Auggie and Summer, two of the kittens who've had 3 weeks of meds and 7 baths, and are clear of ringworm so far as anyone can tell, go to their forever home Friday. Six kittens will be easier to manage than 8 kittens plus mom. Little by little...
Have a good weekend everyone, and happy 4th to all who celebrate. Keep your critters safe if July 4th is celebrated with fireworks and other scary things where you live. Not a happy day for many pets, and for people who find loud noises more than challenging.
