Yesterday, I elected to stay home from the Dunster Farmers Market.
I got some plants planted, and tidying and watering done. It felt like "catching up" … π an illusion.
Truly, I missed visiting with my Dunster friends, and I also was passing up a chance to ride with Shelly.
I'm getting more inclined to stay home than ever.
I did get to the transfer station to drop off garbage and check the swap shed. I said "no" to myself a few times.
There were rusty old buckets and interesting containers to use for planters. They could be used for planting. Someone I know could use 'em.
However … how many old trunks, washing machine drums and rusty buckets does one collect before a yard looks like a dump? Everyone has a line they draw for themselves: I decided to come home without these items. No regrets.
When I told Gary about my brave decision making, it was clear that he felt this "line" of which I speak has already been crossed. He wasn't unkind about it, but he might have rolled his eyes a bit. π€·πΌ♀️

Um, so, I was awake before 5 am, now blogging at 6 am. But I went to bed at 8 last night.π€·πΌ♀️
At first light, I thought I should get outside weeding, but the coffee's made and the bed too cosy. So I've been shopping online, reading and planning meals in my head and talking to you.
It is not as smoky this morning, and nobody has texted me that there is smoke billowing from behind the mountain directly behind us. That was yesterday… after reporting, we learned that there was an "older" fire near us but it was under control.
Still rather unnerving, but we aren't on fire now.
I took a photo of Mica for the "guess the breed" game in the Dull Women's Club in Facebook. It hasn't been approved, though I'm definitely a member. Perhaps everyone is tired of the game.
"Maybe I'm too adorable for the club…"
Later, I'll probably grab the dog and go for a drive to Valemount. If it works out, I want to buy a couple of items from the Facebook Buy & Sell.
It makes almost nothing a bargain if I need to drive an hour each way, but the beauty is in the beautiful scenery.
Fire hasn't blemished all of the landscape, but I fear it isn't done with us yet. Of course, collectively, we are still trying to help people from the devastated town of Jasper.
On with the day!
Hope you're high and dry and safe.
Love, Ann
