I mentioned briefly that I thought about dressing Bowser up as a parrot or monkey if Tommy and I did pirates as our theme this year for Halloween. But before we go out and buy him an expensive costume, there are always a few things to check beforehand. First of all, you want to make sure your pets are comfortable wearing clothes/costumes. Princess Peach loves to wear clothes. She loves Christmas sweaters and hoodies, and we could probably dress her up during the cold months constantly, except that Titan likes to tear at whatever she is wearing, which is disappointing for both Princess Peach and myself.
I am actually unsure how Bowser would do in a costume. He did not like wearing the cone of shame, but what actual animal does like wearing it? Titan had to wear T-shirts when he got staples and was fine with that, and he does have a thunder jacket that he wear occasionally, but he is not the biggest fan. Tommy and I always talk about getting the dogs costumes for Halloween, but then we never end up actually following through. If I were to actually get Bowser something for the first time, I would probably go to the thrift store and pick out a baby-sized T-shirt and see if he was comfortable and tolerated wearing that first, and if he was, then I would consider getting him a costume.
I found a bonnet for Willy that has a witch's (wizard?) hat on top, that I really considered getting him for Halloween. He has a jump pad and matching bonnet that has glow in the dark skeletons on it that I absolutely love this time of year. Horses have to wear a lot of things in general, and he is pretty tolerant of most items as long as it doesn't involve too much around his ears and face. He's a good sport.
Have you ever dressed up your pets for Halloween? I would love to seem some pictures in the comments or on the Facebook page! Maybe I will get my life together enough to get costumes for everyone, but considering we haven't even started decorating for Halloween yet, I am a little behind the ball this season.
