Oops … skipped a day.
Starting pretty soon after breakfast, I cut many flowers and "harvested" the sunflowers that were up to ten feet tall.
Our local chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of B.C. is having an event called a Poker Ride. I've never been involved other than to donate some prizes.
This year, I told Shelly that I'd help her decorate the venue, the newly developed campground for horses and riders.
We went up to the site around noon and did some of the work. Shelly can handle the rest.
Gary is going up to the Equine Campsite today as well. He helps with everything, but is especially valued for directing traffic. There are trucks pulling horse trailers coming in on the first morning, then leaving on Sunday.

Today I'm going out to Dunster. I didn't assemble any goodies to sell but will go for the socializing. There's just one more Farmers Market there, and the ones in McBride finished a couple of weeks ago.
It's windy and colder at the moment. On the one hand, I'm not ready for winter. However, if I can't re-start summer without the sore shoulder (which in the past four months has healed somewhat), I guess I'll find more indoor work to do.
Since my retirement and despite the injury, I have enjoyed gardening more that I have in decades. The flower beds are far from perfect, but I did make progress with moving, dividing and weeding, though there are still large portions needing work. It's the first year in ages that I haven't felt pushed and stressed over harvesting delicious produce from the vegetable patch.
True … we planted fewer potatoes and other vegetables but will still have most of what we need for winter.
Red onions in the dehydrator 😋
The freezers are almost 💯 full, but the rest of our decent crop of onions might just get frozen. All that is left to deal with might get squeezed into freezers before it freezes outside … a bit of Swiss chard, kale, kalettes, corn, spaghetti squash. Gotta dig the dahlias and move geraniums in, and save the nummularia in the greenhouse so I can prove to myself and a certain sales lady that it's perennial. 🤞
Okay, I drank the rest of the coffee and should get a move on. Enjoy your day!
Love, Ann
