Yesterday was a blur, but fairly ordinary, all in all.
My reason for going into Prince George again, a week after having a shoulder ultrasound, was to get the "H" snapped onto the front of the Honda. It's a sensor/camera cover as well as an emblem.
Anyone, presumably, could have replaced that sucker, but the cost and "labour" was covered by warranty… a total of over $300. That is more than the cost of gas for a pleasant Wednesday drive into the city.
So I left early as is my habit. I treated myself to a "senior omelette" at a place I hadn't been before. I fancied myself a food critic, and the restaurant didn't disappoint.
At 'Aubree's Breakfast Place' ~ friendly staff! Everything hot and delicious, premises clean. It was busy, a local gem.
I dropped off some donations at a thrift store, and found a cutlery box. 👌 I found Gary's new favourite chocolate and some other necessities at London Drug, then hit the hot tub store for supplies.
There was another thrift store near the Honda dealership. I found a sort of plant saucer but no boxes. I stopped at the credit union that we migrated to after the only bank in McBride closed.
Then I arrived at Honda to get the "H", extended our warranty, and had a truly fun hour of conversation with the salesman and the finance guy. They were not trying to sell me anything, I guess … that ship has sailed. We talked about travelling, and the gentleman seemed 🤏 a little impressed that I like drive long distances, sometimes alone.
The finance guy gave me not just one, but three beautiful pens.
After all this excitement, I surprised myself by deciding to come home. I bought fuel at Costco Gas and chose not to brave the crowds in Costco Warehouse. Our freezers are quite full because of garden harvest at home, and from recent trips to Prince George too.
I missed out on shopping time and opportunity. But really, I want for nothing, and instead should keep to the business of downsizing. To my own surprise, I've become better at letting go of stuff, and not bringing home more stuff.
That includes most cutlery boxes! 😅
Hope the day ahead is lovely for you.
Love, Ann
