Draining a Water-Logged Field
Cross Fit for the MindThe Newsletter that Changes the Minds of High Performers |

Over stimulation is a product of too much input without enough time for processing. Think of it like a water-logged field. The rain is the input and the drainage is the processing. We don't have enough time to drain which is why we are overstimulated. Prolonged overstimulation leaves us with no idea of who we are or what the f**k we're doing with this one precious life of ours. Last week I spoke about some things to stop doing, reducing the input. Now let's look at increasing the drainage. - If you start your day by sitting with your eyes closed for 15-minutes, you have now stopped the input. It is no longer raining. Thoughts whirr around in your mind like water drains through a sink hole. Allowing it happen will give you more clarity in your day. Some people call it meditation.
- If you find time in your week to write down everything that is going on for you right now without censorship, that is another form of drainage. Information out, no new information in. Some people call this journalling.
- If you find time to talk to a friend one to one about your life, this is another form of drainage. My friend and I have sent one another voice notes once a week for 2-years now and our lives are much the better for it. Good friendship comes with the added bonus of connection and intimacy, rocket fuel for how we're feeling (more on that later).
- If you find time to create like writing poetry, art, woodwork or cooking – this can also be a form of drainage. (Just be careful not to make it into a job to do).
Pick 1 and try it. Now that we've drained the gunk from our batteries, next week we will look at how to recharge them.
