Cross Fit for the Mind

The Newsletter that Changes the Minds of High Performers

Plant Shelf

Connections at a soul level are inexplicable intellectually but let's give it a go.

Usually, a connection at a soul level makes you feel smaller in a good way, yet somehow part of the bigger whole.

When I stand out on the west coast of Clare, there is an energy I pick up from the Atlantic ocean that I do not get on any other coast in Ireland. That energy is added to the fact by knowing there is nothing else until America.

Nearby is a pub where Mick Flannery often does small intimate gigs and during the opening notes of some of his songs, I close my eyes as if to be swallowed by the music down into a deep dark hole. Here it is as though I am suspended in space. I immediately feel small and expansive at the same time. Pure joy.

I have similar experiences sometimes with large oak trees, or when spending time with my nephew.

I don't know when a beach, a song, a tree and a little boy stopped being that and started being a manifestation of the divine but I do know it is important to cultivate it.

What do you get your soul food?
