When it comes to mental health we are generally trying to reduce the heat in our minds using therapy, journalling, ice baths, saunas, sharing circles etc.
A less considered practice is a shift in perspective which can be done using mythology, a form of storytelling.
In mythology instead of minimising difficulties, we are trying to see them as part of the human condition that has existed for millennia.
Believe it or not, there are no new problems. Those problems that have persisted have been told in stories, known as mythology, for hundreds of years.
Take a trip to a storyteller and listen for yourself in the story. You will hear the character you are playing now and maybe some of the characters you have played before.
Your problems will not seem as bad against the backdrop of human existence.
