Today, I'm featuring a song that was released on 10 October 1966, two years in to my Army College education. The song exploded into my very structured life and made me feel good. It still makes me feel good!
Brian Wilson was a perfectionist and it took nearly 6 months to record this song which has been called a crown jewel of popular music, a 'pocket symphony', with its innovative production, lush, layered arrangements and range of instruments, including the world's most celebrated use of the theremin.
It was so polished that no live performance can quite do justice to the original recording. I do hope that it makes you feel good too!
