Good morning, everyone. It's above freezing this morning. Winds blew fiercely all night. Tiny bit of snow fell.
Although I woke several times in the night and was up and dressed at 6 am, I had had a "head start" … I slept soundly in the comfy recliner for two hours before stoking the fire and getting to bed. It all counts!
Though I have a couple of sizeable dogs to groom today, I'm hoping for a slower pace.
Milo and Kaiya arrived before opening hour, but this is something I agree to. This allows a nurse to get to her long shift on time.
For the moment, there are only those two, plus Stella & Luna and Rosie. And two cats, Survivor and Mitzi.
Mica and Minna keep "Survivor" cat company, though I can hear the kitten's warning growl. She's not impressed or comforted, but will be okay. Big pup, "Cid" went home with new wraps over his incisions (where dew claws were removed) and a fourth cone to keep him from chewing the sites.
Graphic warning … this blog is about to turn "ugly".
This morning while I was getting ready for the huskies to come, I was ministering to the cats. We have the two boarders plus four "lifers".
Flurry always likes to drink brand new fresh water out of a clean dish every day first thing. I've never mentioned this to anyone, as it's yet another task if someone had to take over here. But this small quirk of Flurry's is amusing to me and no trouble as she greets me every morning for her champagne pristine drink.
Today, as she appeared as usual, it looked like she had vomit on her back, running down her sides. I know, right?
It turns out, something on the poor senior cat had burst, as I kept wiping her down and stuff kept reappearing. I do have a strong stomach, but I was gagging. I have confined Flurry until I can take her to the vet, whenever he is available. Oddly, the cat seems to feel well. I'll shave the area to see what I can see.
Then, Smokey started gagging. Cats just do that quite often … hairballs, new food, any excuse! But she puked up a small roundworm. That's common in pets, but I have wormed the cats recently.
And yesterday, great big Sam vomited too … I thought it was just from gluttony. OMG.
If you have read this far and now feel nauseated, I apologize. All this happens while we don't have a washing machine: thank goodness for paper towels.
Time to make breakfast!
Hope your day is awesome, with no nausea. Hugs to all.
