I have to do a lot of driving since I live out in the middle of nowhere. The car is a basic necessity. So this is the beginning of a series of impressionistic paintings using the triangle of the road as a motif. I've roughed this piece in with large brushes just to get the canvas covered. Leave it to dry before giving it second coat. It's been a long dreary winter, rained more or less continuously since June 2023, but hopefully things will improve with increased daylight hours. Additionally I see this method as something of a solution to the traditional standing out in the rain (and wind) and getting soaking wet, for now all I have to do is take a snapshot of the road before me and make a painting based on it.
