I have a bit of dog grooming to do this morning. I'm helping a couple of friends, gladly. 🤷🏼♀️
Yesterday I got down to gardening in earnest. It's not glamorous, what I'm toiling at, in fact I'm really "getting down", and after a short while, can hardly get back up.
It is satisfying to get weed roots out, but they move in again so fast. I'm sacrificing pretty little violas and forget-me-nots in an effort to get the grasses and other pervasive invasive perennials weeded out.
I work fairly fast, but it's daunting. I am grateful to have more time for this. As I sit among the plants, I "transplant" the earthworms I dig up, brush spiders or beetles away, wave bumblebees out of my space. No mosquitoes so far this season! 🤞
As most of our dogs have done before her, Mica lies on a blanket beside me. It's her idea of a good time if I get up to empty the wheelbarrow, or transplant something or stake it up, or run the hose. I guess we are both easily amused.
A gardener's view, sometimes…
(the peonies are about two feet tall)
Kinda tired now
When Shelly came to visit on Sunday, she brought herbs from the container herb collection I'd bought her last week. Voilà … pepperoni and mushroom pizza with herbs coming right up! 😋
No tomato sauce on Gary's pizza: we use garlic butter instead.

Got busy and didn't finish the day's chitchat.
Charly was transfixed by the parrot bathing in his water cup.
Hanni is a robust girl for one her age. She is gentle and humble.
It has been raining off and on today, so not an ideal gardening day.
I've got a wee bit of room left in the vegetable garden. I might plant flowers in the rows to use the space; I've lost track of which vegetables I've planted though I scribbled on some of the stakes marking the rows.
I love to grow food, but I don't stress about anything. If one thing doesn't produce, we can usually find it at the local farmers market. I feel far more sensitive if my gardening partner has any critical thing to say about my efforts.
Need to dash into town to ready the little house for the next guest …
Hope your day is going well.
Love,
Ann
