The Cat Show Live are thrilled to announce that Iwan Thomas will be hosting their first event on 14th September 2024 at The NEC in Birmingham.
Iwan is an excellent host, funny, engaging with a huge love of animals, while you may know him better for his love of dogs Iwan's first pet was in fact a much-loved Persian cat called Gizmo.
Iwan is without a doubt, one of the greatest athletes that Britain has produced, he held the 400m British record of 44.36s for an incredible near 26 years, on top of that amazing record Iwan has secured numerous medals during his career Including European, Commonwealth and World medals as well as an Olympic Silver.
Since retiring from Athletics, Iwan has established a successful broadcasting career including fronting Moto GP tonight (BT Sport), fronting Eurosport's coverage of the World Athletics Championships (2023), has won Celebrity Hunted and will be working with Eurosport again this Summer.
Iwan is set for a big 2024; starting with the arrival of son Bowie in January, a baby brother joining Teddy and Dougie as well as the 4th July launch of his autobiography 'Brutal' and of course joining us in September.
As well as a big year for Iwan, 2024 is set to be a big year for The Cat Show Live, tickets went live for the event in April (you can buy yours here) it's the first event of it's kind in the UK, bringing together cat lovers from around the Country, the first event to unite the three World Cat Congress registries; the GCCF, Tica and Fife, the first UK cat event that doesn't have a competitive element but where you can meet your favourite breeds with their owners and breed ambassadors.
We'll be showcasing the wonderful work of the rescue's that work tirelessly to help cats in need in Hope Alley, where you'll be able to interact with the rescue's and reach out digitally for further information regarding the cats they have in need of homes.
Responsible Ethical Cat Ownership (RECO) is at the heart of The Cat Show Live and we'll be continuing that theme in Theatre Square, where you'll be able to hear from and interact with some incredible speakers about how to ensure your cats remain happy and healthy throughout their lives.
The Cat Show Live aims to make positive strides towards improving cat ownership, from responsibly choosing your cat or kitten, through to ensuring that your home has all the required enrichment to keep them entertained and healthy.
The Cat Show Live will be an excellent opportunity to spend time with likeminded cat lovers and be immersed in all things cat for the day.
