Yesterday I worked tirelessly to renovate more garden spaces that had been neglected for years.
That is not to say that I didn't struggle to conquer weeds, sometimes in marathon sessions of digging deep, creating barriers, spraying homemade herbicide. It's guerrilla gardening.
In some places I am "surrendering" the flower beds to lawn. I'm trying to extricate and relocate some special perennials.
Forgive me for repeating myself, as I know I've described this mission many times before. I'm downsizing in the yard in a similar way to the way I attempt to declutter the house.
I ran out of strength before I ran out of the desire to dig and place rocks. The "quack grass" is just evil and I was tempted to give the whole area back to the lawnmower man, precious plants and all. The challenge is daunting.
As a Father's Day Sunday, it was most pleasant.
