This is my "hurray" day, my favourite day (still don't know why). And it's a day closer to sitting by the lake in Gimli.
Be that as it may, it rained all night long. A lot. A lot a lot. I was awake much of the night because of my shoulder, so I might not be good for much on this otherwise wonderful day.
Tuesday night, it seemed that I dreamed all night about our late friends Curtis and Bonnie Culp. Geographically, there is some distance between our homes, so we didn't see them too often, but they were loved by everyone.
Their three grown children have just listed the family farm, which is now considered prime recreational land in our province. It has come a long way since Bonnie's dad homesteaded there.
At our house, more lupines are blooming where we've noticed them before. I don't recall planting them, and therefore they seem like a greater gift.
Yesterday, I started digging early but was tired out by noon. I moved an Annabelle Hydrangea from one side of the yard to another, so I hope I haven't killed it. That was some serious grunt work. 🤦🏼♀️
A Google photo … I can't find my own photo right now.
Our place is still humble, but looking less like a dog kennel in the front yard. And … it doesn't look like "a patch of Saskatchewan.".
By the way, I have nothing against Saskatchewan:
that's my birthplace.
