My own dahlia, oriental lilies, and Asiatic lilies

Mica and I took a Sunday drive.
We were delivering four dog houses to Valemount, specifically to a friend who works at the Transfer Station. I was glad to take them there instead of driving several miles further to our friends's acreage.
As I stopped the truck and jumped down, our friend Kim gave me a great big hug. Then the lady beside her exclaimed "Ann!" and threw her arms around me too.
I had no idea who the other gal is. Kim didn't either. π€
As Kim and I chattered outside the swap shed, a petite lady of about my age leaped out of her car, carrying a plastic bin with what appeared to be apparel.
She chirped, "What are you? 28, 30, 32?". I assumed she didn't mean age, but I thought she meant waist measurement. I replied, "No, I'm more …"
"Oh, you're pretty long legged then. I thought you looked my height."
π‘ I did finally realize what she meant, but considering how slender was this lady, I dropped the conversation. I was taller and broader. But it was well-meaning of her to ask.
She asked if I wanted some clear shelf liner, and I accepted gladly (one size fits most lol).
Then Mica and I said goodbye to friend Kim.
At our next stop (to buy a heavy-duty food processor), the conversation was strange in a different way. The senior woman, selling her mom's items through Facebook, was splitting firewood in the heat of the day.
As we talked, the seller declared that she can't stand when people start their day at 6 am and stop "suddenly" at 1 pm for a long break. "What the hell…" she averred, "…you just keep farming until the farming's done!"
This, mind you, is at the centre of Valemount, a town of about 1200, far from farms.
I told Gary about this conversation. I reported to him that I argued with that woman, "You never know when folks are unwell or injured, or just need rest.". Gary thought that I let the other woman "get away with that".
I was actually pretty offended, but then I realized that she knew our daughter Shelly and thinks she's an angel on earth. So there's that.
No sense getting ugly with folks who, in our opinion, have ugly opinions about other peoples' need for rest or quiet, etc. π€·πΌ♀️ Still bothers me anyway.
I had intended to shop at whichever stores were open eg. grocery, brewery, hardware, but instead, I bought a Subway sandwich for Mica and I to share and went back on the road.
At home, I did about 5 minutes work, admired Gary's project he had toiled at while I was away. Then I fell fast asleep in the chair … lazy sod that I am. Pfft. Start at 6 am and nap in the afternoon before the "farmin's done"!
