There are 3 core elements to a rite of passage. Departure (leaving the familiar), journeying (exploring new realms) and return (integration back into old world in a new way).
Immersive experiences that we have spoken about before such as retreats, short courses and holidays can act as a rite of passage. But so can gap years, sweat lodges, periods fasting in nature, long distance walks and many more examples provided they contain the 3 core elements.
Rites of passage have a powerful dimension to them in that they act on us at a soul level provided we obey the laws of total separation (departure), unfamiliar territory (journeying) and returning – usually feeling changed at some level.
What rite of passage do you need to go through?
