Serenity Camping is the perfect place from which to explore the magnificent coastline of North Yorkshire and its stunning National Park.
We are situated a short walk from the fantastic golden beach at Runswick Bay, famed for its surfing and fossil collecting, and within walking distance of the picture-perfect fishing village of Staithes.
The campsite extends to 5 acres with wonderful views of the North York Moors National Park. We are also only 8 miles from Whitby on the main bus route. We offer 20 grass pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes, all with 10 amp electric hook-up available, and an additional 4 deluxe, hard standing pitches. All pitches can accommodate BBQ's that are off the ground (please ask at reception if you need bricks to raise up your BBQ).
Our camping field provides ample space for tents and features a wildlife pond and a BBQ area. There is also an additional 5 electric hook up points available for tents.
We offer superb dog friendly glamping. This includes shepherd's huts, bell tents with double beds and fairy lights. The tents have a comfortable double bed with scatter cushions and a draped mosquito net, a sitting area, mirror, cool box and provisions for making hot drinks and camping cooking (a gas stove is provided for outside use). A pretty outside seating area and gas BBQ are also supplied.
We also have a lovely 2 room potting shed available. The Potting Shed is furnished in a cottage garden style with a pretty double bedroom with chest of drawers, mirror, TV and plenty of magazines to leaf through. The kitchen/diner is fitted with a 2 ring gas stove, fridge, sink providing cold water, kettle, coffee table and all the basic crockery, cutlery, glasses, cups and pans for glamping style self catering. The Potting Shed is dog friendly and has a lovely enclosed private garden perfect for containing your pooch. With a decked area, table and chairs, Charcoal BBQ and plenty of privacy the garden is a lovely place to relax. Wi-Fi is available in the potting shed.
The recently renovated family/disabled toilet block comes with wet room and hair drying facilities. There is also a heated toilet, shower and laundry facilities which are centrally located and have a hair drying cabin available. There is also a microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwashing area available for guests at no additional cost.
We are a dog friendly site, with wonderful on and off lead walks directly from the site. We do ask dogs to be kept under supervision and on leads at all times on the site, both for the benefit of all guests and our free range hens that roam around the site!
The relaxed and quiet nature of the campsite is something our customers love. We endeavour to maintain this atmosphere which is why we embrace a 'peaceful camping policy' to ensure our customers continue to enjoy their time with us.
Serenity Campsite is nestled in the village of Hinderwell, which lies between Runswick Bay and Staithes, set back slightly from the coast. Hinderwell benefits from a village butcher serving local meats and produce, a fantastic fish and chip shop and 1 pub that serve hearty food and a warm welcome after a long day of walking, sightseeing or just relaxing! An art cafe and bistro are also available nearby. There are many walks locally. We are also close to the Cleveland Way Walking Trail.
We aim to offer our guests a warm welcome and cater for tents, glampers, caravans, motorhomes and backpackers who are looking for a relaxing, peaceful break or stopover in this stunning part of the country.
