Cross Fit for the Mind

What not to do

Cross Fit for the Mind

The Newsletter that Changes the Minds of High Performers

Plant Shelf

Energy is the most precious resource we have. Yet we trade it for over stimulation. This often impacts our well-being and that of those around us. Intuitively, we can all tell the difference between interacting with someone who's energy is balanced (they are present) and someone who is over-stimulated (they are not present).

How do we recharge? Well the short answer is rest. But asking a modern day human to rest is like asking someone to relax while they are repeatedly electrocuted.

We can discuss ways to guide yourself into rest but right now that would seem like asking you to do more stuff, which would defeat the purpose. Let's start by asking ourselves not to do things.

  • Like do the first half of your days work without your phone. Or leave your phone at home when you go to the gym or pop out to the shops. (Notice how this makes you feel).

  • Instead of trading your time for money, try it the other way around. Pay someone to take something out of your day like having the local garage clean your car.

  • Push requests for meetings or meet ups out a week.

  • Substitute working on a new idea for reading the newspaper or watching some mindless TV.

This week figure out what not to do. Turn the stimulation dial down a touch and next week we'll look at how to drain the swamp of an over-stimulated mind.

Enjoying the newsletter and want a friend to sign up and answer the questions/prompts with you? You can send them this link to sign up.
